UKS2

Gymnastics

We have been exploring shape, travel and balances.  We created simple routines involving examples of different types of shapes, methods of travel and ways to balance using a partner.

Cooking

To prepare for making our tortilla wraps and salsa next week, children have been learning how to safely chop and prepare their ingredients.

STEM day

Children took part in a challenge to create a catapult that would project Father Christmas’ presents the furthest distance.   We designed and tested a range of catapults and measured how far they could project pompoms.

Christmas Wreaths & Outdoor Learning

Children collected natural resources from the KS2 playground and created their own Christmas wreaths.

Outdoor Learning

Children collected their own natural resources from the KS2 field to create their own Christmas ornaments.

Sewing

Children created fantastic Christmas cards using needle and thread!

Electricity

As part of our unit of work on electricity, Elm class created their own wire loop games and wrote instruction texts to help younger children learn how to play them.

Outdoor Learning Day

As part of the school Outdoor Learning day in May, children in Elm class explored the different living creatures they could find in the school pond.  We created tables and bar charts in Excel to present our findings.

Sports Day Practice

Although our Sports Day was postponed due to rain, we had a brilliant morning practising all the events on the playground.

Circus Skills

The circus came to school!  Children have a super time learning some circus skills in the big top tent!

Sports Day

The sun came back and we had a wonderful day on the field for our Sports Day.
