Our School Council works tirelessly to improve the opportunities for all children at Elm Park. Two members are elected from each of our nine classes from Year 1 to Year 6 by their peers. In the last year, the School Council have successfully reviewed the School House system and introduced our new houses named after forests: Amazon (Yellow), Madagascar (Blue), Redwood (Red) and Sherwood (Green). They secured funding for new playground markings, a netball court and training grids, and new stage and lighting equipment for our school productions. In addition, the School Council, along with our Eco Warriors have cleared and planted out our vegetable plot and we have enjoyed seeing the fruits of our labour!

Our job as School council is to help to make our school a better place to learn and play for all. We look at the school and decide what needs improving. Our attention is then focused on the chosen topic. Not only is it our thoughts; we also ask our classmates for suggestions and new ideas. Everyone’s idea is valid. At the moment we are working on the outside areas.
All of these ideas (and more) will hopefully be worked on with our accessible funds and the help of the whole school community.
The School Council and Mr Daniels (the teacher in charge of School Council) all try our best to make the School a happy place. We hope to organize a few fundraising events so everyone would be very grateful if you contribute. We know our work will do the school proud!
